The Project-Group
We are an international group made up of university students and young professionals from Germany, England, Canada, Switzerland and Austria. We met in South Africa whilst volunteering on a social project. It was then that we built up a special connection to the country, the culture and the people of South Africa, which has now developed into this charity initiative: we wish to continue to be active in Africa.
Last summer our friend from South Africa –Dave Martin from Bulungula – asked us if we could organise and install potable water facilities for Bulungula. Many of us have been to Bulungula whilst travelling through South Africa and Dave's vision has motivated us all. His idea is to get down to the root of the problem of migration into cities by making life in the countryside attractive again for the people of South Africa.
We have been meeting regularly in Germany since October 2007 to organise and plan our project. For us it is important to realise the project in close inter-personal contact with the people of Bulungula. The know-how of spring protection shall be demonstrated, manual work will play an important role and the financial cost shall be kept low. We intend to create awareness for water quality and the protection of water on a social level too. Meeting people and transferring the spark of initiative, this is our wish!!
